Catalkoy
The elevated village of Catalkoy is only about a 10 minute drive from Kyrenia and close to Ozankoy and Bellapais. Catalkoy is a traditional Cypriot village and a popular place for overseas visitors, the village is full of white washed buildings and a local square surrounded by shops, cafes and bars which have a very Mediterranean feel to them.
Nearby are many wonderful beaches where you can relax and soak up the sun. Catalkoy has its own private beach for resident which has a great restaurant that is very popular with the locals and also a good place to have a drink and watch the sunset. You could venture to Lara Beach which has rock pools or Alagadi Beach where loggerhead sea turtles lay their eggs.
For the more energetic holiday maker there is the local riding school that offers guided tours through the mountains and rising lessons.
Located on the mountain slopes it offers great views across the coastline. Catalkoy is often referred to as "the Lake District but without the Lakes" due to its many walks and beautiful scenery.
